Get unstuck and motivated!

Sometimes we can feel so overwhelmed with everything on our to-do list that we become paralyzed, unable to even take the first step. We end up wasting hours playing on our phones, scrolling social media, or watching tv. Nothing gets done and we feel even more stuck and guilty, struggling to get motivated. A vicious cycle!

This might be a sign of executive dysfunction, which makes it harder to plan, organize, start tasks, manage time, and regulate emotions. You may notice struggling to start or finish projects, missing deadlines, forgetting things, having trouble focusing, or feeling easily overwhelmed, frustrated, or anxious.

Let's break the cycle and take small, manageable steps to get going on the path to organization and management. I'm sure we've all made lists before, but traditional lists can be just as overwhelming! Start by breaking tasks into categories and ordering them from quickest and easiest to longest and most time-consuming. Create some momentum by completing these shorter tasks and checking off these boxes.

Studies show that when we complete a task we have that sense of accomplishment and the dopamine that goes along with it. This will give you the energy to keep going into the next task. Make sure to work in breaks and even give yourself rewards. This resource is designed to help you organize your tasks, stay on track, and celebrate your wins, so you can regain control and motivation. You are okay. You are in control. You got this!
