If you've ever worked with me you know one of my favorite sayings is, "It's just cortisol!"
This is a powerful reminder for moments when you feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or out of control. What you’re experiencing is a chemical reaction in your body—part of your natural stress response system. It really is just cortisol causing these feelings.
Sometimes it can feel like we can’t handle our anger, stress, or emotions. But pausing to remember that cortisol is flooding your system can shift everything. That awareness alone creates space to breathe, ground, and begin to self-regulate.
